PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst for decomposing perfluorocarbon, which is able to minimize decrease of a catalyst activity due to fluorine and simplify a pre-treatment process, and a process for efficiently decomposing the perfluorocarbon using the catalyst. CONSTITUTION: The composite catalyst for decomposing perfluorocarbon is characterized in that a transition metal is supported on a porous alumina. To decompose the perfluorocarbon, the perfluorocarbon is supplied to a reactor where the composite catalyst is filled and is allowed to be reacted with the composite catalyst at the temperature of 500-700 deg.C.
