GLYCEROL-3-PHOSPHATE PHOSPHATASE AND GLYCEROL-3-PHOSPHATE DEHYDROGENASE FROM CANDIDA ALBICANS, GENES ENCODING THE SAME, VECTOR AND HOST CELL CONTAINING THE GENE AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF GLYCEROL USING THE SAME
PURPOSE: Glycerol-3-phosphate phosphatase and glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase from Candida albicans, genes encoding the same, a vector and a host cell containing the gene and a method for the production of glycerol using the same are provided, which enzyme is useful for glycerol metabolism pathway, so that the production yield of glycerol can be improved. CONSTITUTION: A polypeptide having glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and having the amino acid sequence which is homologous to that of SEQ ID NO:1 with an 80% homology is provided. A polynucleotide encoding the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 is provided. A polypeptide having glycerol-3-phosphate phosphatase and having the amino acid sequence which is homologous to that of SEQ ID NO:2 with an 80% homology is provided. A polynucleotide encoding the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 is provided. The vector pCJP-017 comprises the polynucleotides encoding the amino acid sequences of SEQ ID NO:1 and SEQ ID NO:2 under regulation of an appropriate promoter. The transformed microorganism Escherichia coli DH5α(pCJP-017)(KCCM-10494) is produced by transforming Escherichia coli DH5α with the vector pCJP-017. The method for producing glycerol comprises culturing the Escherichia coli DH5α(pCJP-017)(KCCM-10494) in an appropriate medium and recovering glycerol from the cultured medium.
