PURPOSE: A method for detection and identification of Bacillus anthracis by multiplex PCR using a RNA polymerase beta-subunit gene is provided, thereby rapidly and accurately detecting and identifying Bacillus anthracis, and determining whether Bacillus anthracis is pathogenic with one time PCR. CONSTITUTION: The method for detection and identification of Bacillus anthracis comprises performing multiplex PCR of DNA of a testing microorganism using a primer having a nucleotide sequence selected from SEQ ID NO:33 to SEQ ID NO:35 and a primer for capsule gene(cap) of Bacillus anthracis, and analyzing the amplification of a RNA polymerase beta-subunit gene(rpoB) specific to Bacillus anthracis having a nucleotide sequence selected from SEQ ID NO:1 to SEQ ID NO:5.
