SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A SPINDLE MOTOR OF AN OPTICAL DISK REPRODUCTION DEVICE BY USING A COUNTER ELECTROMOTIVE FORCE, PARTICULARLY CONCERNED WITH CONTROLLING A TRAY OPENING BY SENSING WHETHER THE SPINDLE MOTOR IS ROTATED, BASED ON THE COUNTER ELECTROMOTIVE FORCE
PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling a spindle motor of an optical disk reproduction device by using a counter electromotive force are provided to measure a counter electromotive force corresponding to a rotational speed of a spindle motor, and to sense whether the spindle motor is rotated, thereby preventing a tray from being open while a disk is rotated. CONSTITUTION: A spindle motor(20) rotates an optical disk, and stops the rotation of the disk based on a spindle brake voltage. A spindle motor driver(30) performs forward/reverse rotations of the spindle motor(20), and stops the rotation of the spindle motor(20) based on a spindle motor enable signal. An optical pickup unit radiates light on a pitch formed on the optical disk, receives light reflected from the pitch, and converts information data into RF data. A PLL signal generator(50) converts an EFM signal into data, and generates a data clock for the RF data. A signal processor(60) stops the rotation of the spindle motor(20) when the spindle motor enable signal is in enable mode, and opens a tray after a predetermined delay time by measuring a counter electromotive power of the motor(20) if the enable signal is in disable mode.
