PURPOSE: A non contacting torque sensor is provided to exactly detect torque exerted on a torsion bar by improving the structure of the torque sensor. CONSTITUTION: A non contacting torque sensor includes an input shaft(10a), an output shaft(10b), a shaft(10), a plurality of detection rings(31,32,33), a detection coil assembly(40) and a sensor housing. The input shaft(10a) is connected to a steering wheel. The output shaft(10b) is coupled with a steering unit. The shaft(10) includes a torsion bar connecting the input shaft(10a) to the output shaft(10b) in the same shaft. The detection rings(31,32,33) are installed at the outer surface of the outer shaft(10b). The detection coil assembly(40) surrounds the detection rings(31,32,33). The sensor housing has the detection coil assembly(40), the detection rings(31,32,33), and the shaft(10).
