摘要

PURPOSE: A reflection and transmission type LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent light leakage due to non-use of a black matrix and reduce parasitic capacitance between a gate line and a transmission electrode, thereby improving picture quality by forming a gate line-covering element overlapping with the gate line. CONSTITUTION: A gate line(240) and a data line(260) cross over each other. A source electrode(262) is connected to the data line and a drain electrode(263) is spaced from the source electrode. A semiconductor layer(224) is contact with the source and the drain electrodes. A gate line-covering element(290) is extended from the data line and overlaps with the gate line. A reflection electrode(280) reflects an outside light, wherein the reflection electrode has a hole therein. A transmission electrode(261) is connected to the drain electrode.
