PURPOSE: A system and a method for setting a bell sound by using a mobile communication terminal are provided to receive broadcasting data including index information for setting a bell sound, and to demodulate the broadcasting data while transmitting the index information at the request of a user, so that the user can easily set the bell sound. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting station(10) includes index information in a broadcasted sound, and outputs the broadcasted sound. A terminal(20) receives a wireless signal outputted through the broadcasting station(10), demodulates the index information, and transmits the index information to set a bell sound at the request of a user. A bell sound setup server(40) sets the bell sound according to the index information received through a mobile communication network(30) from the terminal(20).
