PURPOSE: A method for restoring a 3D(three-Dimensional) form using a graph cut is provided to restore a 2D brightness image to a 3D form information by utilizing an energy minimizing technique such as the graph cut. CONSTITUTION: A total energy function, formed by a brightness limitation condition and a smooth limitation condition from a 2D brightness image, is supplied to an energy minimizing part(202). A local energy minimizing value is found out by using a combinational energy minimizing technique of a graph cut in the total energy function, and thereby a normal vector of object surface is obtained(205). A 3D form of an object is restored by utilizing the normal vector of the object surface which is given to each pixel(207).
