The rigid body registration method between the 2D XA image and the 3D CTA image is based on the patient's electrocardiogram (ECG) curve information when the XA (X-ray Angiogram) image is taken, and the 3D CTA (Computed Tomography Angiography) image taken before the procedure. and matching the cardiac cycle of the 2D XA image taken during the procedure; setting standardized importance values according to anatomical structures of blood vessels to centerlines of blood vessels extracted from the CTA image; performing initial registration by generating a boundary volume to match the matching spaces of the CTA image and the XA image; forming a 2D distance map through regional distance propagation for measuring a distance value from the blood vessel center line of the CTA image by limiting adjacent pixels within a preset pixel from each blood vessel center line of the XA image; and performing precise registration based on a distance value between blood vessel centerlines of the CTA image and the XA image, the importance value, and the 2D distance map. Accordingly, fast and accurate registration between the rigid body between the 2D XA image and the 3D CTA image is possible.
