PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for executing origination without opening the folder in a dual LCD type foldable mobile phone is provided to make a call to a desired number without the necessity of opening the folder in case that a headset is connected to the mobile phone or the mobile phone is installed at a handsfree kit. CONSTITUTION: If the user of a foldable mobile phone selects an external call function key in order to make a call without opening the folder(S10), a control part confirms whether the folder is closed(S20). In case that it is confirmed that the folder is in the closed state, the control part displays stored phone number lists through an external LCD(S30). The user searches phone number lists using a scroll device(S50). If a desired phone number is found out, the user selects the phone number using the external call function key. Then the user selects the external call function key again and makes a call(S60).
