PURPOSE: Provided is the extract of old platycodon for prevention angiogenesis associated with the growth and metastasis of cancer cells. The extract inhibits the cell migration, cell adhesion, cell invasion and tube formation. Therefore, an angiogenesis inhibitor containing the same as an active ingredient is used for prevention and treatment of cancer. CONSTITUTION: The angiogenesis inhibitor is characterized by containing the extract of old platycodon obtained by extracting old platycodon powder with water at 90-100 deg.C for 4-6 hours twice, followed by filtration; or with organic solvent at room temperature twice, followed by filtration and concentration under reduced pressure.
