PURPOSE: An SMS(Short Message Service) of a mobile communication terminal and a receiving call converting method are provided to select whether to receive a call or continuously write a short message when the call is received while writing the message, and to return to a previous short message writing screen after the call, thereby continuously writing the message. CONSTITUTION: When a call is received in a short message write mode, a system stores a short message writing state, and arrays a telephone connection menu and a message writing menu. If a user selects the telephone connection menu, the system connects the call between the user and other party, and carries out a call process. When the call is terminated, the system reads the previous short message writing state, and returns to a previous short message writing screen. If the user selects the writing of a short message, the system rejects the call, and connects the call to a voice mail box.
