Industry has made significant contributions over the years to theunderstanding of how intelligent network (IN) control may be applied tomulti-party calls. This work has finally come to fruition in the ITU-TRecommendations for IN Capability Set 2 (CS-2), which support Call PartyHandling (CPH), the ability of IN to manage stable calls with two ormore parties. CPH makes possible more flexible and customizablemulti-party services. This presentation provides an overview of theConnection View State (CVS) approach to CPH, which is defined in INCS-2. Fundamental to the CVS approach is a set of Connection Viewobjects that represent the connectivity of a call. To manipulate theseobjects, SCF sends one of a set of atomic operations added to IN CS-2 tosupport CPH. In addition, mid-call events are made visible to SCF
