MIXTURE USED FOR BIOACTIVE BONE CEMENT AND PREPARATION OF BIOACTIVE BONE CEMENT USING MIXTURE

PURPOSE: Provided are a mixture for preparing bioactive bone cement and a preparation of bioactive bone cement using the mixture, wherein the bone cement reduces calorific value and is used to unite materials like metal, polymer, and ceramic into bones directly and firmly in the short time. CONSTITUTION: A mixture for preparing bioactive bone cement consists of PMMA powder and CaO-SiO2 gel. CaO-SiO2 gel is obtained by adding tetraethoxysilane(Si(C2H5O4)) into a aqueous solution of Ca(NO3)·4H2O and polyethylene glycol and stirring the solution. CaO-SiO2 gel is added in an amount of 3-90 wt.% relative to total weight of PMMA powder and CaO-SiO2 gel. CaO:SiO2 of CaO-SiO2 gel is 2:98-30:70 in molar ratio. PMMA/CaO-SiO2 bone cement is prepared by adding a hardening solution into the mixture.
