PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for setting furnace temperature of heating section in a continuous annealing furnace by calculating the optimum furnace temperature distribution of the heating section according to width and thickness of strip and line speed, thereby calculating furnace temperature setting patterns per zones and controlling combustion in the optimum heat efficiency range per each of the zones. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for setting furnace temperature of heating section(1) in continuous annealing furnace comprises a pyrometer(3) for detecting a strip temperature radiated from a strip(2) passing through respective zones of the heating section; a strip temperature control part for setting a strip temperature control value using a deviation between the radiated strip temperature detection value and a preset strip temperature target value; first, second and third converters(201-203) for respectively converting signals of a line speed of the heating section and width and thickness of the strip received from a supervisory control computer into corresponding numerical values in a range of zero to one; first, second and third operators(204-206) for respectively calculating temperature compensation values according to line speed, width of the strip and thickness of the strip using the converted numerical values in a range of zero to one corresponding to the line speed, width of the strip and thickness of the strip respectively outputted from the first, second and third converters; an adder(207) for adding up the temperature correction values according to the line speed, width of the strip and thickness of the strip; a position compensation buffer(208) for setting temperature compensation values per respective zones to compensate heat loss according to position of the respective zones; and a furnace temperature control part for setting furnace temperature per each of the zones using the strip temperature control value, the temperature correction values added up in the adder and the temperature compensation values per respective zones.
