PURPOSE: An optical disk and a method for recording disk information of the optical disk are provided to suggest various methods for recording WS(Write Strategy) information within disk information, and to uniformly apply standardized disk information, thereby effectively coping with a recording/reproducing function of an optical disk. CONSTITUTION: Disk information is recorded at every recording layer according to speed, and WS information is recorded according to speed. Information which distinguishes the kind of the WS information is separately recorded within the disk information. At least more than two kinds of the WS information are standardized, and one kind of the WS information is selectively recorded in the disk information. The disk information is recorded in a pre-recorded area while a disk is manufactured. The disk information is recorded as an RF modulated signal in the pre-recorded area.
