PURPOSE: An optical disc and a disc data recording method are provided to efficiently record a position of standardized disc information for a high speed disc drive and to efficiently record or reproduce information by using the standardized disc information. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. Disc information is prepared for each allowable recording layer and each speed. The disc information is separated into information for designating a position of the first disc information for each allowable high speed, and data for designating a position of the disc information for each allowable recording layer. A position of desired disc information can be checked by combining the information for designating the position of the first disc data for each allowable high speed and the information for designating the position of the disc information for each allowable recording layer.
