PURPOSE: A device and a method for sensing an impact caused when a folder is closed in a folder type terminal are provided to detect that a folder is closed when a magnetic force is sensed at a specific angle that the folder is open/closed, and to drive an audio input circuit to receive an impact sound caused by the folder closing through the audio input circuit, thereby measuring an intensity of impact. CONSTITUTION: A hall effect element(102) detects whether a folder is open/closed. An MSM(120) generates an effect sound and an effect display according to a measured intensity of impact when the folder closing is detected. An audio input circuit(110) receives an impact sound caused by the folder closing. A memory(130) stores a setup value for judging the intensity of the impact while storing display data. An LED/LCD unit(140) displays the display data generated from the MSM(120). An audio output unit(150) outputs the effect sound generated from the MSM(120).
