PURPOSE: A steering damper device is provided to characterize bilateral symmetry because a cylindrical damper is either shrinked or expanded, to produce damping force when a handlebar is wheeled left or right and to decrease the damping force when the handlebar is turned back because the shrinkage and expansion of the damper have an effect on other damping forces. CONSTITUTION: In a steering damper device, a cylindrical damper(10) comprises a damper case(11) and a damper rod(12) sliding in the damper case. The cylindrical damper is installed between steering-side members(4a,4b) rotating around a steering stem(5) by operation of a handlebar, and a vehicle body-side member(6h) not rotating by the operation of the handle. The cylindrical damper is mounted while the damper rod is at the longest or shortest position around zero degree of a steering angle.
