PURPOSE: Provided is an organic electrolyte comprising an additive that causes sulfur to participate continuously in the electrochemical reaction so as to improve the discharge capacity and life characteristics of a lithium-sulfur battery. CONSTITUTION: The organic electrolyte for a lithium-sulfur battery comprising a lithium salt and an organic solvent further comprises a phosphine sulfide compound represented by the following formula 1. In formula 1, each of R1, R2 and R3 are the same or different, and each represents any one selected from the group consisting of a C1-C30 substituted or non-substituted alkyl, substituted or non-substituted C6-C30 aryl, substituted or non-substituted C1-C30 alkoxy and substituted or non-substituted C8-C30 aralkenyl, wherein hydrogen atoms present on an aromatic ring may be substituted with optional substituents.
