A method for optimizing nested tunnels by using a nested path in a mobile network is provided to allow an MR(Mobile Router) to select an optimum path by using nested path information and obtain a tunnel between the optimization-considered MR and an HA(Home Agent) by stably transferring packets to the HA through extended BU(Binding Update) including the selected path. An MR1(620) broadcasts to an MR2(625) and an MR4(650) that it is positioned with a temporary address of MR1_CoA at an upper side of the MR2(625) and the MR4(650) through an NP(Nested Path) option message of 'RA(NP0:1:MR1_CoA)', and the MR2(625) and the MR4(650) recognize the existence of the MR1(620) at their upper side. The MR2(625) broadcasts its temporary address of MR2_CoA to its lower node, and in this case, the MR2(625) also broadcasts the temporary address of the MR1_CoA of the MR1(620). Likewise, the MR4(650) also transmits a message such as 'RA(NP0:2:MR1_CoA MR4_CoA)' by including the MR1_CoA in an NP option to its lower structure. Upon receiving the NP option message from the MR2(625), an MR3(635) transmits a new NP option message including the CoA of the MR1 and the MR2(625), namely, 'RA(NP0:2:MR1_CoA MR2_CoA MR3_CoA)'(620) to its lower structure. An LFN(Local Fixed Node)(640) and an LMN(Local Mobile Node)(645) included in the MR3(635) receive the message and recognize which MRs are positioned at its upper side. A VMN(Visiting Mobile Node)(655) positioned at a lower side of the MR4(650) also receives the NP option message from the MR4(650) and recognizes which MRs are positioned at its upper side. The MR3(635) discovers a nested path through the NP option in the received RA message, adds NRP(Nested Routing Path) option information in a position information registration message for path optimization, and transfers it to an MR3_HA(600). Then, the MR3_HA(600) stores only the nested path information in its BC(Binding Cache) entry and creates a tunnel reflecting path optimization with the MR3(635).
