METHOD FOR SAWDUST CULTURE OF LENTINULA EDODES BY INOCULATION OF LIQUID SPAWN

A method of growing Lentinula edodes by inoculating liquid spawn instead of sawdust spawn into a sawdust medium and then culturing at low temperature is provided. It cultures inoculated liquid spawn at low temperature thereby to prevent damage from harmful bacteria such as Trichoderma, etc. and to save energy costs and therefore increases the production capacity by 13% or more as compared to conventional sawdust spawn inoculation methods. A suitable amount of liquid spawn of Lentinula edodes instead of sawdust spawn is inoculated into a sawdust medium and the inoculated sawdust medium is stored at 12.5deg.C for 3 days. For an example, 30 to 40ml liquid spawn is inoculated into 2kg sawdust medium and stored.
