Driving control method for light element of mobile phone of image communication

PURPOSE: A method of controlling a driving of a luminous element of a video communication terminal is provided to turn on/off the luminous element according to a count value based on brightness information and a calling point in a voice earpiece speech mode, thereby extending a standby time of a terminal and reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: When a standby state is converted into a call state, a microcomputer recognizes the call state(S110). The microcomputer decides whether a speech mode is a voice speech mode or a motion picture speech mode(S120). If the mode is the voice speech mode, the microcomputer confirms whether the mode is an earpiece mode(S130). If so, the microcomputer turns on an image sensor and a brightness information detector(S140). The microcomputer compares detected brightness information with a preset setting level(S150). If the brightness information is smaller than the setting level, the microcomputer turns off a luminous element driver and a luminous element, and confirms whether a call is completed(S170). If so, the microcomputer turns off the brightness information detector, and maintains a standby state(S180).
