A method for measurement of the jitter tolerance in the ongoing operation on a transmission path, as a consequence, useful information are transmitted via the transmission path,in the pauses between the useful information measuring frames are transferred with different delays,the measuring frame on the receiver side with a currently valid setting of the phase matching be read, for individual delays a criterion relating to the legibility of the delay value and the momentary time (date) are stored,from the stored values of the range within which a correct transmission is possible, is determined.
