The current sensor has a framework (100) comprising a current conduction area (101). Two magnetic field sensor chips (110) are arranged on opposing sides of the framework. An external pin (103) is connected to the sensor chips. An evaluation unit is connected to the magnetic field sensors. An independent claim is included for a method of producing the current sensor.
