The deflection device for a safety belt in a motor vehicle includes a cover element (5) connected to but detachable from a guide element. The guide element is constructed as a steel plate (3), whereby both the steel plate and the cover element are fastened on a support part (6) of the vehicle by means of at least one common fastening element. The fastening element is formed by a bush (7) installed on the cover element, and a mechanical connecting element (10) engages in the bush and passes through corresponding holes (8,9) in the steel plate and in the supporting part.
