The anion exchanger (102) is located within the measurement chamber (103) of the measurement unit (104). The vessel (123) in the measurement chamber (103) receives the nucleophilically-fluorinated reaction product, and is used to measure its radioactivity. The measurement unit (104), a radioactivity meter, is calibrated. A reaction mixture is purified in the high pressure liquid chromatograph (HPLC) (200) column (201). The HPLC is coupled through a line (111) to a sample delivery valve (113), to fill its dosing unit (114). The valve is connected via a drain line (115) to a waste container (116). A fluid sensor (112) detects reaction mixture in the line (111) associated with the delivery valve (113). The delivery valve is controlled. In an initial state it couples the line (111) to waste (115) through the dosing unit (114), when reaction mixture is detected in the line by the fluid sensor (112). When moved under control into the injection state, the delivery valve (113) charges the HPLC column from the dosing unit (114). Injection takes place when the sensor no longer detects reaction mixture in the supply line. Fluid sensor and reaction vessel (105) are coupled directly by the line (111).
