Control arrangement for motor vehicle, e.g. for determining position of vehicle on road, uses control device for receiving measurement signals for ascertaining distance to objects on/near carriageway
A control arrangement has at least one sensor arrangement with ultrasound and/or radar sensors (4,5) which emit ultrasound and/or radar radiation (12) at least partly in a lateral region of the vehicle (1) and receives reflected radiation and then outputs measurement signals (S1,S2) to a control device which receives the measurement signals and from the measurement signals detects a spacing/distances to objects (9,10) on or near the carriageway (3) and outputs control signals from this for a driver support function and also detects a distance (d) of the vehicle (1) to the edge of the carriageway (7) and outputs carriageway detection control signals (S10,S11,S12). An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting a motor vehicle position when traveling on a carriageway.
