The belt drive of an internal combustion engine has a belt (2) connecting drive pulleys of a driven component and of at least one drive component (5). To compensate for oscillations the drive component has a damping device (16) integrated directly in the bearing (8) of the pivotable drive component and includes at least one force loaded tensioning element (15a,15b) comprising an inner friction cone and an outer friction cone. The inner and outer friction cones each have a cone angle which is equal to or less than 20 degrees.
