The sleeve comprises a flat, web-like substrate (2) made of electrically conductive material in textile form, a film or felt, longitudinally closed to form a protective sleeve. A contact zone (1) is formed from the flat material having at least doubled the thickness of the substrate, for electrically contacting the substrate, whereby the substrate is overlapped and forms the primary closure of the substrate when the sleeve is formed.
