Binding agent for binding Al oxides in Al containing Cu alloy melts based on addition to the melt of a fluoride containing salt, i.e. a fluoride containing cryolite salt and/or PAF (K-Al fluoride) as first component in amount 40-60 weight %, fluorspar as second component in amount 25-35 weight %, and also Na- or K fluoride as third component in amount 15-25 weight %.
