The clamping device has several clamping bolts (55) which interact with corresponding recesses (21) of the pallet (2) so that as the pallet is clamped and the bolt projects into the recess the pallet is correctly positioned and aligned. The clamping device can have several holders (53) each with a clamping bolt and C-shaped in design to fit round the sides of the pallet. Independent claim describes finishing machine for machining workpieces on pallets whereby the latter is clamped by a clamping device.
