The method involves applying a set of values to a digital to analog converter (DAC) to generate respective measurement values. A DC compensation value is determined according to the set of values and measurement values without using predetermined calibration parameter. The digital to analog converter is calibrated based on the DC compensation value by adjusting digital input values of the DAC. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for calibrating the digital to analog converter (DAC).
