Sealing unit for sealing a rotating element, especially the internal cooling roll of an extrusion unit, with two slip rings, with their slip surfaces pressed together via a spring element, where one slip rings holder is fixed with a housing element and the other is linked to a rotating element. The internal sides of the slip ring holders have graded contours for acceptance of slip rings (7,33), with a gap in the gradation region between slip ring holders (1, 34) and sealing elements (9) for sealing slip rings (7,33).
