Ultrasound measurement unit for determining the material properties of liquids held in transport or storage tanks (1) by means of a thermometer and ultrasonic transmitter and receiver in a sound guidance tube (4) with reference markers (6). The transmitter emits impulse packets. The measurement electronics (2) determine liquid density and filling height (7) from the time of flight of received sound impulse packets.
