PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a field emission display employing a carbon nano-tube is provided to reduce the amount of the carbon nano-tube used by using the carbon nano-tube on the upper portion of a conductive column only. CONSTITUTION: A cathode(2) is formed on a substrate(1). A gate insulating layer(3) having plural gate holes(3a) is formed on the cathode(2). A gate electrode(4), which has a through hole(4a) corresponding to the gate holes(3a), is formed on the gate insulating layer(3). A conductive column(15) having a level higher than that of the gate electrode is formed on the cathode(2). A carbon nano-tube(17) is adhered to a lower surface of a flat template(18) in a refined powder state. The carbon nano-tube(17) is adhered to an upper surface of the conductive column(15). Sintering the conductive column(15) results in lowering the level thereof.
