PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a complex, having extremely strong adsorptivity for hydrogen sulfide, etc., and utilizable as a deodorant, an antimicrobial agent or a freshness retaining agent, etc., for vegetables and fruits producing an inorganic porous crystal in the entity of a hydrophilic polymeric substrate swelled in an aqueous solution. ;SOLUTION: This complex comprises an inorganic porous crystal in the entity of a hydrophilic polymeric substrate. A cellulosic substrate is preferred as the hydrophilic polymeric substrate and zeolite is preferred as the inorganic porous crystal. The complex may be obtained by reacting plural water-soluble compounds with a basic substance in the entity of the hydrophilic polymeric substrate. Thereby, the objective complex excellent in ability to adsorb metallic ions, especially silver or copper ions can be expected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
