The method involves producing a signal of difference between two longitudinal acceleration signals by testing a condition of frost for a measurement of slope. A quantitative estimation signal of the slope is produced from the difference signal when a condition of frost for the slope measurement is not verified. The estimation signal is congealed, when the condition of the frost for the slope measurement is verified. An independent claim is included for a vehicle equipped for implementing a process for estimating a slope of a surface.
