The method involves calculating coefficients of an adaptive digital filter (30), and controlling updating of the coefficients of the filter based on predetermined criteria. The controlling suspends the updating of the coefficients when a ratio between a useful wireless signal and an interference signal is higher than a preset threshold. The preset threshold lies between -30 and 0 decibel. An independent claim is also included for a wireless device.
