The method involves comparing a value of external temperature measured by a temperature sensor (1) with a preset value. A hybrid power train (9) is controlled according to the comparison result. Simultaneous operation of a heat engine (6) and an electric motor is controlled, when the measured value is lesser or equal to the preset value. The operation of the heat engine permits to heat a coolant that heats the cab interior. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling hybrid power train of a motor vehicle.
