Manufacturing process for product designed for human consumption from graminaceous or poaceous plants consists of harvesting when immature and subjecting to heat treatment-

The process consists of harvesting crops of graminaceous, poaceous or similar plants while they are still immature, removing the glumes and or glumellas and applying thermal treatment to yield ready-to-eat products with a preferable degree of moisture between 65 and 75 per cent. The plants are harvested when their degree of moisture is between 70 and 50 per cent to give a finished product with a green index (100-a) of between 95 and 120, and a luminance of 50 - 65. The thermal treatment consists of subjecting the plant grains to temperatures of -80 to 0 degreesC and/or 70 to 200 degreesC in phases of 1 to 10 minutes and/or 10 to 120 minutes.
