The process involves controlling an engine, during closing of an electronic clutch, so that the speed of an engine shaft converges towards the speed of a primary shaft before the clutch attains the closed state. The closing of only the clutch is controlled for attaining a set point of torque on the primary shaft. The control of the closing of the clutch is independent of the operating conditions of the engine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an information storage medium including instructions for the execution of a process controlling closing of an electronic clutch (B) a system for control of the closing of an electronic clutch.
