PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a pressure loss of fluid in a particle packed layer which is formed by mixing a plurality of particle groups.;SOLUTION: In the first, the particle groups which constitute the particle packed layer are determined and the geometrical standard deviation σ_i, the geometrical average diameter d_i and the kinetic shape factor κ_i are obtained (S10). Secondarily, the viscosity μ and the superficial velocity u of the fluid passing through the particle packed layer are obtained (S11). Then, the height H and the porosity ε in the particle packed layer and the particle number n_i of each particle group existing per unit volume of the particle packed layer are obtained (S12).
