PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a pressure loss of fluid in a particle packed layer which is formed by mixing a plurality of particle groups.;SOLUTION: In the first, the particle groups which constitute the particle packed layer are determined and the geometrical standard deviation σi, the geometrical average diameter di and the kinetic shape factor κi are obtained (S10). Secondarily, the viscosity μ and the superficial velocity u of the fluid passing through the particle packed layer are obtained (S11). Then, the height H and the porosity ε in the particle packed layer and the particle number ni of each particle group existing per unit volume of the particle packed layer are obtained (S12).
