PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article finding system and an article finding method for finding an article cooperatively for each group.;SOLUTION: When a certain user has an article 1 stolen (T1), users stored in a database 5 associated with the same group ID as that of the user are retrieved on the basis of steal notification from the user, and those users are notified through a portable information terminal 4 (T5). When the user who has received its notification finds the article 1 which seems the stolen article 1 (T6), the user reads module ID from a communication module 2 mounted on the article 1 to a portable information terminal 4, and transmits it to a server system 3 (T9). The server system 3 which has received the signal compares the received module ID with the module ID stored in the database 5 to determine whether or not the found article 1 is the stolen article 1 (T10).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
