PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating propolis in which propolis and propolis extract having little stimulative taste can efficiently be produced by a simple method and a method for producing the propolis extract and to provide the propolis and the propolis extract having little stimulative taste. PSOLUTION: The method for treating the propolis comprises bringing raw lumps of propolis into contact with a supercritical fluid, extracting a stimulative taste component of propolis contained in raw lumps of the propolis with the supercritical fluid and removing the stimulative taste component from the raw lumps of propolis.
