PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating antiobestic/antidiabetic action, to provide a method for screening an antiobestic/antidiabetic substance, to provide a kit for screening the same, and to provide a method for diagnosing obesity/diabetes.;SOLUTION: This method for evaluating the antiobestic/antidiabetic action includes (1) a process for treating a mature fat cell derived from an obese person with a test substance, (2) a process for measuring expressivity of at least one of gene selected from a group consisting of genes expressed by table 1 (referred to the specification) or table 2 (referred to the specification) in the mature fat cell treated in the process (1), and (3) a process for evaluating the antiobestic/antidiabetic action of the test substance based on the expressivity measured in the process (2).
