PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition comprising a novel protease capable of cleaving -amyloid. PSOLUTION: The composition contains at least 10 wt.% active fragment of the protease capable of converting the -amyloid precursor protein to the -amyloid peptide by cleaving the precursor protein of the -amyloid peptide on the N-terminal side directly, and proceeding the proteolytic cleavage by the -secretase from one of the carboxy terminus and the amino terminus.
