PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for an F-T (Fischer-Tropsch) synthesis reaction, which exhibits high activity. PSOLUTION: The catalyst for the F-T synthesis reaction, in which a metal compound comprising an active metallic element is deposited on the surface of a carrier consisting of a porous material, is characterized in that the lattice constant ratio LCR of the active metallic element to be defined by the expression: LCR=LCm/LCb (wherein LCm is the lattice constant of the active metallic element in the metal compound; LCb is the lattice constant of the active metallic element in a bulk material consisting of another metallic element having ≥1 μm particle size) is in a range of ≥0.996 and ≤1.005.
