PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment which avoids useless operations of a position information signal receiving device to reduce waste of electric power.;SOLUTION: The portable electronic equipment 10 comprises a time display means 22 for displaying a current time, a position information signal receiving means 12 for receiving a position information signal transmitted by a position information satellite and acquiring the transmission time of the position information signal, an indoor/outdoor decision means 116 for deciding whether the current position is indoor or outdoor, and a timepiece correction means 118 for bringing the time displayed by the time display means 22 into sync with a timepiece of the position information satellite on the basis of the transmission time of the position information signal.
