PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of predicting the lifetime of a component more accurately even when the using frequency varies.;SOLUTION: The lifetime of the component as a lifetime predicted object is previously converted into a predetermined lifetime value, and, when the component is measured, a state amount indicating the exhaustion degree of the component is calculated based on the obtained measurement result. The obtained state amount is stored in a storage section while the measurement date is related to the component. When the lifetime prediction of a predetermined component is performed, at least three state amounts obtained by a plurality of measuring operations of the component are read out of the storage section together with the measurement date. The intermediate point of the state amounts and the intermediate point of dates at adjacent measurement points are determined on the basis of the state amounts of the adjacent measurement points, of the state amounts read from the storage section. A position is determined where the straight line passing the intermediate points and the points showing the state amount and the date of the present measurement crosses the line indicating the lifetime of the component read out of the storage section, and the date corresponding to this position is set as a lifetime arrival prediction date.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
